Newcastle survived a tricky trip to an injury-hit Millwall but left it late to scrape through into the fourth round of the League Cup.
Despite Millwall being out of form and missing a full team of players through injury, this always had the potential to be a bit of a banana skin, but my god did Newcastle make hard work of this.
For a team that had 25 shots and 15 corners, we simply never looked like scoring - until we did.
And Joe Willock was the man who popped up with a clever finish, having played himself firmly into Jaissle's plans after looking certain to leave in the window.
What should have been a positive in Tino Livramento's return had almost turned into a horror show moments before Joe's goal though, as Tino kicked the ball off his own face to play in Millwall striker Arconte who hit the post.
As it was, we just about found a way through the tie, though performances seem to have degraded recently.
Dedic came off at half time feeling his hamstring which is a concern given how he's started, so in that sense it's a relief to have Tino approaching fitness again, and there we more minutes for the absolutely lightning-quick Pardo.
The next test is a trip to Elland Road where a victory against the side who conceded six - and scored three - at Stamford Bridge - would put us into third place at the end of the fourth round of games.
Make no mistake though, we'll have to play better than we have in the last three games to achieve that.
