Newcastle finally broke down a stubborn Ipswich side on Sir Eddie Howe's return to the dugout on Saturday, eventually claiming a much needed comfortable win.

It was fairly heavy going until the senseless second yellow card for Johnson, hauling Isak down having just been booked for diving.

Isak dispatched a first half stoppage time penalty and the second half was a dominant performance, Burn doubling the lead with a towering close range header before the hour before Will Osula opened his Premier League account with a great header ten minutes from the end.

So a much needed tonic after the Villa game and a win that keeps us right in the hunt for the Champions League places.

Can we go to Brighton and get anything at our bogey ground? Results like this at home may ensure we don't need to.
