A miserable day at Villa Park as we never recovered from a first-minute goal.
A Schar equaliser saw us go in undeservedly level at half time but the points were only going in one direction, as a seventh game with an unchanged line up caught up with an Eddieless Newcastle.
Our result against Palace gave us breathing space that meant this result in the bigger picture wasn't the disaster it could have been, but it's squeaky bum time in the race for Champions League qualification now.
