Newcastle gained a valuable late point at bogey team Brighton on Sunday, Isak converting the third penalty we were awarded on the day but the only one that survived VAR intervention.
In a largely even contest that lacked quality, it seemed as though the inevitable script was going to play out, Yankuba Minteh scoring a first half goal, Newcastle labouring to a frustrating defeat with a nothing performance.
But remember, this is Eddie Howe's Trophy Winning Mags we're talking about, breaking old habits one step at a time.
And yes, Minteh scored (obviously), and no, we didn't play particularly well, but we kept plugging away at it, finally getting a penalty (after a third, very long VAR intervention) following the most blatant handball you'll ever see.
No pressure for iceman Isak, who planted it right into the bottom corner.
So whilst all of the Champions League chasing teams are desperate for wins, our recent for allowed us to cherish this point, staying above Chelsea ahead of their visit to St James' Park in what's shaping up to be something of a decider.
