Following another Champions League home win, it was back to Premier League, back to London, back to back defeats for an abject Newcastle at Brentford.
And if West Ham was bad, this was even worse, as, having somehow stayed in the game until the final quarter, we almost wilfully threw it away.
And unfortunately, this one was on Eddie Howe, seemingly the only person watching who couldn't see disaster unfolding.
After Dan Burn was mightily lucky to have a penalty awarded against him overtunred by VAR, and with Lewis Hall on the bench, he was left on the pitch only for the exact same thing to happen again several minutes later.
Penalty, second yellow card, game over.
Or rather almost game over, though we contrived to completely switch off and concede a third at the death.
A year ago, a poor defeat at Brentford caused an internal reset followed by nine wins on the trot.
This performance was a hell of a lot worse than that one, but we certainly look like we could use a reset.
