A majestic, curling header from England's Big Dan Burn sent Newcastle on their way to another excellent Champions League home win on Wednesday night.

A wonderful header from the first watch, every subsequent viewing seemed to increase the unfathomable amount of bend Burn managed to get on the header, starting way outside the far post and swerving into the net.

Athletic certainly had their changes but it was largely a good Newcastle performance, the one downside being a headless performance by Gordon who is clearly lacking in confidence.

Taking a blow to the hip, his withdrawal before half time looked almost like an act of mercy.

A Joelinton header early in the second half sealed the points as we took our foot off the gas, doing enough to preserve the win.
